VOC

VOC stands for Verification of Competency. For IRATA technicians (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association), a VOC is an assessment process used to verify that an individual has the skills, knowledge, and ability to safely and effectively perform specific tasks related to rope access work. It ensures that technicians meet the required competency levels, particularly when starting work at a new site or when specific job roles demand proof of ability.

Refresher training as per TACS

4.11.1 If rope access Technicians are not using rope access techniques regularly, they should be

evaluated for competence prior to the commencement of operational duties. Refresher training in

particular techniques may be required and the amount of operational supervision necessary afterwards

may need to be adjusted, depending on the outcome of the risk assessment.

4.11.2 If rope access Technicians do not use rope access methods for a period of more than 180-

days, they are required to undergo refresher training. The training should be appropriate for each

individual and should be recorded in his or her logbook (see ICOP [TC-102] Part 2, 2.5.2.8). Refresher

training:

  1. a) shall be carried out by an IRATA Level 3 rope access Technician;
  2. b) shall not be carried out during operational duties;
  3. c) may involve the need to undergo a full training course.

COST of the VOC / Refresher training

Day-1 $ 450.00 GST Inclusive

Any additional days, if required, are charged at day rate of $450.00/day.
